It looked like there had been some activity and it had been altered to an unnatural look in my personal opinion so there was a lot of work for me to do to construct something that looked natural to me and represented this spot and all its beauty properly

there's no limits to that and I’m just so grateful for everything that I've experienced and everything that I get to see and that's what I love about painting landscapes and that's what I love about life

Waking up early one day to this scene had me pause for a moment and think

The scenery is some of the most unique that you'll ever find, history is everywhere, and the wildlife is abundant. Bighorn sheep, elk, bison, pronghorn, and many others roam the vast and rugged countryside. The mule deer however is one of my most favorite animals to roam this land. I took all my best memories and compiled them into this piece I titled "Western Monarch."
