The spine is twist Damascus and the middle is basket weave Damascus with a horse head canister Damascus. The horse head Damascus starts out as 4 inch square canister with the horse head pattern in the middle of 15N20 then powder steel packed around the outside. Much attention and care has to be taken to keep it completely square all the way through
